Internships are the bridge to a career of a lifetime. Some Internships are paid and some are not. What a Intership is, is basicly a job in the career feild that you strive for. A job to get your feet wet, to give you a chance to shine before they put you on for good. So take heed and go the extra mile and look for a Internship, they do more good than bad. Even the upaid ones. Another thing about Internships are that they change sparadicly, which means you have to start looking now because they are not available all year round and they have deadlines you must meet in order to get the position.
